Growing Greener: Our Journey to a Carbon Neutral Christmas Tree Farm

At our farm, we believe every tree tells a story—not just of holiday memories, but of growth, stewardship, and hope for a healthier planet. When we started this journey, we set out with a simple but ambitious goal: to give back to the earth more than we take. Today, we’re proud to share the progress we’ve made—and the vision that drives us forward.

Planting for the Future

Last season, we made a commitment to plant more trees than we harvest. In fact, we’ve already planted twice as many trees as we cut last year. Each new sapling is more than just a future Christmas centerpiece; it’s a promise to the land, our community, and future generations.

Building Healthier Soil—One Year at a Time

Five years ago, our tilled soil had an organic matter content of just 1.8%. If you saw that patch of earth back then, you might not have guessed its potential. Through careful stewardship, cover cropping, and organic amendments, we’ve steadily improved our soil’s health. Last summer, a soil test showed that organic matter had risen to 4.0%. This isn’t just a number—it’s proof that our farm is sequestering carbon and enriching the soil, which is key to our mission of combating climate change.

A Vision for Carbon Neutral Christmas Trees

Our ultimate goal is to tag each Christmas tree with a message that matters:
“This Tree Was Harvested From A Carbon Neutral Farm.”

This isn’t just marketing—it’s a testament to the real, measurable improvements we’re making in land management, soil health, and carbon sequestration. We believe every family who brings home one of our trees should feel good knowing their holiday tradition supports a healthier environment.

Partnering with the Sustainable Farming Association

To help us reach this milestone, we’ve recently partnered with the Sustainable Farming Association. Their expertise and network will guide us as we refine our practices, track our carbon footprint, and share our story with others.

We know there’s still work to do, but with every tree planted, every percentage point of organic matter gained, and every partnership formed, we’re getting closer to our goal.

Join us in celebrating not just the season, but a new way of farming—one that honors the earth, captures carbon, and brings joy to homes for years to come.
